Roll-off Dumpsters: Frequently Asked Questions

So you’ve decided that you just might need a roll-off dumpster. That’s great! Renting a roll-off dumpster is a simple process… You’ve really got nothing to worry about. However, in our experience, we have come across some frequently (and not so frequently) asked questions about roll-off dumpsters. And we’ve taken an opportunity to answer some of these questions for you below.

  1. How do I know if I need a roll-off dumpster?

There are several jobs that may require a roll-off dumpster. In general, a roll-off dumpster is needed for any job that contains a large amount of waste, including household trash, renovation projects, large yard work/clean-up projects, construction projects, driveway and roofing projects, and any other project where there is a large amount of debris that can’t be hauled to the dump in a pickup truck.

  2. Where will the roll-off dumpster be placed?

You select the place that provides the easiest access for you on your property. Roll-off dumpsters have metal wheels at the bottom and can be rolled onto most hard surfaces such as gravel, concrete and the bare ground. However, the wheels may damage certain surfaces. If you’re concerned about damage, please feel free to ask us. Also, please note: The wheels may get stuck in the ground after a heavy rain.

  3. What things can’t I put into a roll-off dumpster?

Toxic and hazardous chemicals and materials should never be placed in a roll-off dumpster. These include—but are not limited to—paints, tires, petroleum products, car batteries and electronics. Upon rental, we will provide a comprehensive list of items that are not allowed to be placed in the dumpster.

  4. Do I need to be present for delivery or removal of the roll-off dumpster?

No. We can arrange delivery and removal at your request, and you do not need to present for either.

  5. How do I load a roll-off dumpster?

The only requirement is that the dumpster not be overloaded. This means that nothing should be piled above the top or hanging over the side of the dumpster. Drivers are unable to haul dumpsters that are overloaded.

  6. How much are roll-off dumpsters?

The price varies depending on the size of the dumpster, the type of debris, the weight of the debris, your area and how long you need the dumpster. You can rent a dumpster for any amount of time. Please contact us for specific price quotes.

  7. Do I need any permits for a roll-off dumpster?

If you are a homeowner, you do not need any permits. If you live in a condo or neighborhood community, you may need permission from management prior to ordering a roll-off dumpster.
